Today is Christmas Eve! Merry Christmas to the 80% of all of the people in the United States. OOPS SORRY anyone else if I have stepped on your civil rights by wishing a MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone out loud!
What has become of this country when the MINORITY is in control of everything we do? Some idiot atheist group in Wisconsin has attempted to make a small town in another state remove a Nativity scene from the town property because it somehow affected them! REALLY?
My grandsons elementary school Principal ordered the teachers to refrain from saying Merry Christmas to the Students. No stars were to be on the top of any decorated trees as they cannot be referred to as Christmas trees. No pictures of Santa and no Santa hats were to be seen on a teacher or student's head. During the school assembly where the children usually sang Christmas Carols this year they sang two Christmas songs, All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth and The Twelve Days of Christmas, the remaining songs were just fun kid songs. The Principal spoke to the children about their "vacation" break, she caught herself, and corrected herself, after accidentally saying she wished them all a Merry Christmas, quickly recovering with a wish for a happy healthy vacation break! This is apparently difficult for her also.
I for one am really concerned about what this is telling our children. While we teach them about Christ and our Lord we have our government making the whole idea of Christ a crime to speak about openly. The schools are allowed to teach our kids about most other religions, but not allowed to mention the Christian religions in their courses. They gloss over the history that Christianity had in shaping this country. A very little is mentioned other than the Salem Witch trials, and of course, required reading of the Scarlet letter. Both stories show Christianity in it's extremes. The children are not taught that our Fore Fathers believed that their religious beliefs were SO important that they made sure that the government would be prevented from FORMING a religion, as was done in England. In England the country removed all other religions and created the Church of England. No others were tolerated. The constitution protects us from that and that only. There is no such thing as the separation of Church and State. The Constitution only states that the government is prohibited from FORMING a religion.
I for one am sick and tired of tiptoeing around the Happy Holidays. I will say Merry Christmas to everyone and if it offends them then perhaps they should learn to tolerate our beliefs as we have to tolerate theirs. Why are 80% of the people of this country being rolled over by a very small minority of people? Of the twenty % that is left over there is an even smaller percent that really voice an opinion. Should a tiny group of atheists or other religion have that much power? I don't think so and I think that the rest of us should start to get verbal about our beliefs. Stand up and put the star on the tree! Wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Contact your gov officials and complain about the loss of our rights. Tell them WE, the 80% have FREEDOM OF religion, NOT FREEDOM FROM religion! IT'S TIME THEY GET THE GONADS TO STAND UP FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY!!
I'm afraid that the way this is all going we will one day be hiding in our basements trying to explain to our great grandkids that there was a time when we celebrated something called Christmas, but shhhhh don't tell anyone.

On My mind
Welcome to Tea Time.
Have you ever been to a political Tea Party? I have been to a few and honestly had a great time. The speakers were very informative, the huge crowd was very welcoming, the atmosphere was lively and very positive.
With the amount of people that were there, some in the media were expecting a less than peaceful assembly. Nancy Pelosi in one interview made the Tea Party sound like a crazed riot, but the truth about the gatherings proved her wrong.
Is it surprising that she and Obama totally support the "Occupy
WallStreet" group in New York? I can't conceive of the thought process that can compare the two groups and see the New York mess as anywhere near the dignity and pride of country that is a hallmark of the Tea Party functions I have attended.
I think that the parents of many of the students that are in the New York occupation must be really embarrassed at the behavior of their children, I know I'd be mortified if my child defecated on a police car, wouldn't most moms? Then there are the couples copulating in public and walking around nude in the park! Can't say this type of behavior was ever evident at a Tea Party!
There has been reported violence within this assembly of people.
I wasn't surprised after viewing a news program that showed the protest. This group of people, while having a right to protest don't seem to understand what they are for or against. It appears to be a very unorganized group of people that have extreme feelings about the economy but do not have a focused point of view. I remember when Pelosi warned the public about the violence expected of the Tea Party. Well we all know that never happened, the Tea Party was very well organized, the message clear and concise.
Well I have a Marching Band competition to get to so my thoughts for the day are finished for now.
God Bless
